Support Superstar Wanted for Lovely Young Woman with Autism

Part time work 9 hours + a week

Papakura/Karaka lakes location

We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and energetic support person for a 19-year-old young woman.

A gentle and creative young woman who enjoys puzzles, painting, drawing, and watching her favourite Disney movies is looking for someone to share her activities with.

This is a part-time role supporting her during her daytime activities. Your primary responsibilities will include accompanying her to two programmes, one in Papakura and the other in Panmure.

You will help guide her through her sessions, offer calm and consistent support.  Encouraging conversations together and being of general support. She communicates well in simple phrases and understands clear, patient direction. She is independent in her personal care and meals but requires one-on-one support when attending life skills and community programmes.

Schedule:  

• Thursdays: Pick up at 8:30 AM – Drop home at 1:30 PM

• Fridays: Pick up at 9:00 AM – Drop home at 1:00 PM

• Tuesdays may be added in the future

What We’re Looking For:

• A support person with a warm and upbeat personality

• Experience working with individuals with autism or special needs (preferred)

• Ability to be calm, patient, and consistent

• Someone who can be gently assertive and guide her through occasional challenges

• A full driver’s license is preferred, but we’re open to the right person even if you don’t drive

• You would typically pick her up from home and accompany her to and from her programmes.
