Knowledge is power - but when it comes to navigating the disability system and getting the supports you need, that knowledge can be hard to come by.

 

After decades of working in the disability system, we know that one of the greatest hurdles people face is understanding what supports are available to them, how to access those supports and how to find the solutions that actually meet their needs. A fundamental part of Flying Kites is breaking down the barriers that prevent people from getting the supports that they need.

 

One of the ways we are doing this is creating resources that will assist you in getting the best out of your supports. This series of resources is suitable for those just starting in the system, those new to Individualised Funding, or those who are feeling stuck.

The disability system is complex and overwhelming for many people. We know that a lot of people who need this information don't know what they are looking for. We believe knowledge is power and we believe this community can help those who are lost to find some of the information that they need. The people who need these resources the most probably don’t know what to look for, so we encourage you to share these widely.
