But many people put off finding their own support workers because the process is, quite frankly, daunting. Writing job ads, sorting through applications, and interviewing candidates can take a lot of time and energy – two things you probably don’t have spare at the best of times.

How We Make It Easy for You

A Simple Process

We always start by meeting with you to understand exactly what you’re wanting to achieve. It’s not just about the tasks that need to be done, it’s about who you are as a person and what you’re wanting from the relationship with your support staff. 

From there we create a recruitment strategy that is entirely customised to your specific requirements. This includes considering the type of person that would be the ideal fit for you and your whānau (for example, their skills, values and interests). 

We arrange all of the advertising and pour our time into hunting-out the best people for the role, and then screening applicants. Our goal is to hand over a shortlist of high-quality candidates who are ready and willing to take on the job. 

You then have the opportunity to talk to the shortlisted candidates and decide for yourself who would be the best fit. 

Additional Support

Once you have your ideal candidate, there are some extra steps we recommend you take to ensure you are confident in your new hire. These include reference checks and police checks

We have downloadable resources on our website to help with this process (see our Resources section) and are also able to conduct reference checks and police checks on your behalf. Talk to us if you’d like to include these in your service.
